SD-101, a product candidate in late-stage development, is a potential first-to-market therapy for the rare genetic connective tissue disorder Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). We are leveraging our biologics and Chaperone-Advanced Replacement Therapy (CHART™) platform technologies to develop novel enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) products for Fabry disease, Pompe disease, and other Lysosomal Storage Disorders (LSDs). Our lead biologics program is ATB200/AT2221, a uniquely engineered Pompe disease ERT that will be administered in combination with a pharmacological chaperone.

Job Description:

Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, the Director of Human Resources will play a critical role in the organizational growth and development of Amicus Therapeutics Research & Development Organization by working closely with business leaders to build and enhance a world class orphan/rare disease R&D organization. The Director’s primary responsibility is to provide organizational level HR leadership, direction, and operational management to drive the strategic and operational execution of a world class HR function in alignment with the needs of the business.

Roles and Responsibilities
Work with R&D leaders to understand core capabilities needed to drive business results, and translate into actionable developmental programs for teams
Provide ongoing support to business leaders by serving as a partner in both business and people related matters.
Utilize high level of consulting skills to influence, coach, and provide feedback to employees at all levels
Partner with R&D leadership to build and maintain a culture that is consistent with Amicus values and beliefs, drives performance, and attracts and retains top talent
Play a key role in designing, training, and implementing performance management within the organization
Work with the R&D Leadership Team to design and implement leadership and management development training programs, and succession planning
Develop and implement programs for improvement of organization’s talent practices, policies and procedures on employment matters
Operate with an action-oriented approach knowing how to measure the results of various HR programs and responding to the dynamic needs of the team
Function as the expert on organizational issues and serve as a trusted advisor and business partner to leadership team
Support HR function initiatives and projects on an ad hoc or as needed basis

Qualifications: 

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management (or related field) is required. Graduate degree highly preferred
Minimum 10 years of progressive human resources business partner experience, including organizational effectiveness/change management, learning and development, and talent management

Experience and Skills
Experience supporting a biotech or pharmaceutical Research or Development organization required
Proven experience in the development and implementation of HR initiatives is required
Strong business acumen
Proven customer-centric focus: ability to influence culture and create alignment between business goals, behaviors, and compensation systems that drive performance
Strong consultative style with proven experience supporting all levels of employees and management
Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail, clarity, accuracy and conciseness
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
