QuintilesIMS are looking for a Principal Medical Writer to join our global Integrated Market Access team. You will have the opportunity to apply your scientific knowledge, medical writing expertise and strategic insights to lead the development of client communication activities and services and mentor junior team members. The ideal candidate will have senior-level experience across a range of medical communications offerings, including medical affairs (scientific publications, advisory boards, educational symposia, market access materials, MSL support, and medical information), promotional and patient support initiatives. Qualifications: 

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Advanced scientific degree, or relevant bachelors, with at least 7 years of experience in a medical communication setting
Experience creating a variety of medical communications materials for a range of audiences, for example publication planning, symposium and exhibition materials, educational and training aids, pitch presentations, market access materials and promotional or patient materials
Demonstrated leadership in providing strategic direction, serving as the scientific/clinical expert for assigned accounts, and leading meetings with relevant stakeholders, including clients and external experts

Preferred experience
Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, MS, MPH, MSN, etc) or equivalent, plus 7 years industry experience
Required capabilities
Senior-level writing experience in the medical/scientific communications field
Demonstrable knowledge of healthcare/scientific communications business objectives, services and operating procedures
Ability to serve as scientific expert, provide strategic direction on projects and initiatives, and lead meetings with relevant stakeholders
Experience with research tools and approaches, such as reference management/publication planning databases
Good awareness of current industry code of practice guidelines and their implications
Strong presentation skills
Strong computer skills, including MS office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Internet
Ability to coach and mentor team members
Ability to oversee medical project team outputs, ensuring quality, compliance, appropriateness and profitability
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritise work effectively
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, managers, clients and suppliers
Budgetary awareness
