Position Summary:

The Sr. Financial Planning Analyst supports the Director, Financial Planning and Analysis and CFO and is primarily responsible for Budgeting/Forecasting and Financial Analysis. In this role, you will prepare and follow budget and forecast for a part of the US business (including headcount, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and related due diligence). You will also be responsible for closely partnering with the Commercial Ops Team on the day to day tracking of expenditure related activities. Finally, you will create monthly actionable performance analysis for the evaluation of those Business Units you support, presenting to both the Franchise and Finance VPs.

• Oversee annual budgeting process and quarterly consolidated rolling forecast for a part of the business
• Prepare monthly financial reports and metrics and communicate then to the business partners (Headcount, OpEx and CapEx)
• Prepare and update financial forecasts and analyses as required by senior management
• Monitor corporate performance as compared to budget for sales and operating expenses
• Analyze cost variances, actual vs. plan/forecast and actual vs. prior period
• Identify, interpret and actionably explain budget and expense variances
• Prepare actionable comments on Actuals and Forecasts, & present to Franchise Heads
• Monitor and report on the accuracy and completeness of monthly Accounts Payable accruals
• Monitor day-to-day financial performance by reviewing and approving Purchase Orders in line with the Management approved budget or forecast
• Assist management in development of models to evaluate product development opportunities, capital expenditure proposals, product pricing strategies, and corporate projects

Core Competencies / Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting standards.
• Must demonstrate a detailed and extensive technical expertise as well as an application of accounting industry and financial analyses principles, concepts, theories, and practices
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills to prioritize and coordinate workload with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal, written, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information in an appropriate manner.

Education, Experience & Training Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a financial related field
• 8+ years of Financial Analyses / Planning experience
• Working knowledge of SAP
• Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate a detailed and extensive technical expertise as well as an application of accounting industry principles, concepts, theories, and practices.
• Must possess the ability to resolve complex technical problems
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions.
• Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment, and be willing to work extended hours and travel (limited) as required.

Essential Functions – Physical Position Requirements: Machines and/or Equipment Used:

-PC literacy required; MSOffice skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP
-Regularly required to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, fax machine, etc.)
-Ability to work on a computer up to 8 hours a day.
-Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.
-Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment.
-Close vision required for computer usage.
-Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 25 pounds.
