The Senior Manager/Manager of Forecasting will support the Ipsen US endocrinology, oncology and neurology franchise sales and marketing efforts to optimize in-line, and pipeline initiatives.

The Forecasting Senior Manager/Manager will be responsible for all aspects of marketing program effectiveness evaluation and forecasting. The candidate must be a hands-on analyst who dives into the data, interprets it, turns it into actionable insights & recommendations. He or she will be partnering with Finance, Marketing, Sales and other internal and external stakeholders.


Forecasting– 60%
 Determine Short term and Long term forecasts for in-line and pipe-line products while working closely with the Finance team to determine mid-term planning, and product valuations.
 Develop commercial sales unit forecast taking into consideration supply chain inventory fluctuation and non-demand related adjustments to the unit based forecast.
 Develop robust evaluation models and tools to review multiple scenario analysis and risk assessment.
 Collaborate with Market Research, Clinical, Finance, and Business Development teams to incorporate product relative attributes into the forecast model.
 Co-drive the Business Planning process with AD of Forecasting and Finance counterparts. Participate as a key thought leader of the Business Planning team by challenging assumptions and identifying key risks and opportunities.
 Maintain and improve the forecast tracking and measurement system.
 Plan, design and implement modeling, analysis and forecasting for quota setting.
 Review quota setting methodology and modify methodology based on business needs to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
 Prepare sensitivity analysis.
 Represent Business Analysis in cross-functional team meetings.

Marketing & Sales Analytics – 35%
 Design and deliver ongoing analytics to provide insights for better decision making.
 Conduct/lead the analysis of secondary market data and ensure actionable interpretation and presentation of insights on a timely basis for strategic and tactical decisions.
 Conduct/lead ad hoc analysis (i.e. behavioral segmentation) to identify business gaps/opportunities.
 Evaluate existing and new market areas and products in response to specific Marketing, Sales and Business Development opportunities.
 Identify, benchmark, monitor and report on relevant KPIs.
 Conduct ROI analyses for relevant marketing initiatives.
 Measure effectiveness of multi-channel marketing initiatives (personal, non-personal, digital etc.) and perform optimization of marketing mix/resource allocation.
 Acquire and maintain knowledge of industry trends as well as professional practices & techniques.
 Manage various external vendors.
 Ensure objectives are met within budget.

Information Management – 5%
 Develop and implement new analytical tools by partnering with internal stakeholders (i.e. Sales, Marketing, Sales Ops, Finance).
 Monitor various data sources to ensure data availability and integrity.
 Identify, review and evaluate professional services and business intelligence products to optimize department resources (i.e. reporting automation solutions, outsourcing vendors).


Skills & Requirements


 Strong analytical thinking with the ability to present key findings and develop reports as well as translate the results of statistical analyses into concise business recommendations.
 Strong experience in quantitative modeling methods and forecasting techniques (patient-based, Rx-based and trend-based forecasting models).
 Exceptional problem solving skills and experience in working with elaborate spreadsheets. Strong Powerpoint experience.
 Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication/presentation skills.
 Excellent time and project management skills and attention to detail.
 Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
 Business acumen.


Experience and Education
 Bachelor’s degree in Business Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering or Quantitative Field required. MBA preferred.
 Experience in Life Science field required. High degree of understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain, including manufacturers, wholesalers, chains and payers.
 Proven experience in the application and use of analytical principles, methodologies and statistics (statistical significance testing/confidence intervals, sampling) and multivariate statistics (regression analysis, cluster analysis, conjoint), probabilities and forecasting.
 Understanding of marketing initiatives (digital, multi-channel marketing, CRM strategy) is desired.
 Excellent communications skills and ability to tailor the level of detail/communication depending on the audience
 5+ years of progressively responsible business analytics experience is required for the Manager level and at least 9 years of experience for the Senior Manager level.

Essential Functions – Physical Position Requirements: Machines and/or Equipment Used
 Proficient in MS Office applications, especially MS Excel, MS Access and Word
 Previous experience or knowledge of statistical software (such as SPSS/SAS) and business intelligence programs (such as Business Objects) is preferred
 Regularly required to operate standard office equipment (personal computer, photocopy machine, fax machine, etc.)
 Ability to work on a computer up to 7 hours a day.
 Regularly required to sit for long periods of time, and occasionally stand and walk.
 Regularly required to use hands to operate computer and other office equipment.
 Close vision required for computer usage.
