Job Description

The Accounting Manager leads the monthly corporate reporting for Ipsen Bioscience ensuring timeliness, accuracy and an efficient process. This role will interface with Technical Operations, Research and Development and Supply Chain functions in the management of the intercompany reconciliation and billing process. The Accounting Manager leads the US fixed asset accounting process related to month-end close, analytics and reporting including the monitoring of compliance with capitalization and purchasing policies. This role is responsible for directing the fixed asset inventory process and recommending resolution of any differences identified.


• Perform General Accounting responsibilities for Ipsen Bioscience including month-end close, balance sheet account reconciliations and other general accounting. Lead the monthly corporate reporting ensuring timeliness, accuracy and an efficient process. Perform balance sheet forecasts as required for items including working capital, fixed assets and cash

• Leads the US fixed asset process related to month-end close, analytics and reporting including the monitoring of compliance with capitalization and purchasing policies.
o Ensure proper recording, completeness and accuracy of fixed asset additions, retirements, and transfers
o Responsible for fixed asset depreciation for book and tax purposes for both US Legal Entities
o Responsible for tagging assets and obtaining signature from users before payment of fixed asset invoices.
o Perform general ledger reconciliations and roll-forwards related to fixed assets.
o Responsible for monitoring budgets and ensuring budget limits are not exceeded. Prepare forecasts and budget to actual variance analysis of fixed assets.
o Directing the fixed asset inventory process and recommending resolution of any differences identified.
o Proactively pursue business issues that impact fixed assets and evaluate the situation for acceptable solutions.

• Partner collaboratively with Technical Operations, Research and Development and Supply Chain in the management of the intercompany billing process for Ipsen Bioscience and Ipsen Biopharmaceuticals. Calculate, prepare and post invoices and reconcile with other Affiliates as required. 20%

• Lead special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests and perform other tasks as required.


Skills & Requirements

Reporting Relationships/Significant Contacts

Reports into the Associate Director, Accounting. Partners closely with Technical Operations, Research and Development, Supply Chain, FP&A, Senior Director, NA Accounting and Shared Services and the CFO.

Scope Measures/Decision Making

Liaison to the Technical Operations and Research and Development management in the proper reporting of the Ipsen Bioscience operations. Leads the US fixed asset accounting process and intercompany invoicing procedures

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required

• 7 + years of experience in Accounting / Finance required
• B.S. in Accounting, or finance-related field
• CPA and Big 4 Accounting Firm experience highly preferred
• Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry highly preferred
• Knowledge of Fixed Asset Management and Accounting preferred
• Strong working knowledge of SAP, especially SAP Asset Management module and BFC highly preferred
• Must be able to demonstrate a detailed and extensive technical expertise as well as an application of accounting industry principles, concepts, theories, and practices.
• Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting standards.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational and time management skills to prioritize and coordinate workload with minimal supervision.
