Job Description:

**Job Overview**

The SharePoint Solution Architect / Lead will be a key member of the Employee Facing Systems Extended Leadership Team and will report to the VP, CDCS Employee Facing Systems. This individual will have responsibility for the SharePoint platform, its use and governance across the enterprise, and related support and development activities.

The SharePoint Team will provide the full breadth of services ranging from:

 Collaboration and Content Management architecture and standards,

 Best practices & methodology,

 Platform roadmap and lifecycle plans,

 Collaboration and Content Management solution delivery (planning, design, delivery),

 SharePoint platform/application support

 Oversight of outsourced and contracted labor for SharePoint Team (work assignment, vendor performance—both support & project)

 Quality Control of SharePoint deliverables (ie, review and approve outsourcer/contractor detailed design specs, code, testing, documentation, deployment) to ensure:

- Full adherence to Covance architecture and standards,

- Compliance to Covance governance (ie, tollgate checkpoints, change control, etc),

- Proper and best practice use of SharePoint to achieve SharePoint Team objectives of consistent usage and deployment across business units, common architecture and framework, re-use, speed of delivery and optimal TCO.


Minimum Required:

B.A./B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.


M.S./M.B.A. in Computer Science or equivalent.

TIBCO product certified is a plus


 10 years of IT experience in a software implementation/development environment with a minimum of 5 years of experience in SharePoint and related products.

 3 years’ experience having worked in a competency center, CoE, or shared services organization

 Strong customer interaction skills and ability to forge strong working relationships with various business stakeholders.

 Excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to present clear and concise solutions to senior management.

 In depth experience with Collaboration, Portals, Enterprise Search, Enterprise Content Management, Business Process and Forms, and/or Business Intelligence.

 In depth understanding of the capabilities of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2013, SharePoint Designer 2013, SharePoint templates (site templates, list templates, master page customization), SharePoint workflows, and configuring Search capabilities within SharePoint.

 Web development experience (HTML, CSS, XSL, XSLT, JavaScript), SharePoint Object Model, .NET Framework, C#.NET, VB.NET, ADO.NET, ASP.NET, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, T-SQL, Visual Studio, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, to develop workflows, web features, web parts, web services, Business Data Catalog definitions, custom site definitions, advanced customizations and custom solutions for MOSS and WSS

 Experience configuring and working with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) and SQL Server is required.

 Experience with server installation, performance tuning is desired.


 Experience with SharePoint Server 2016 is a plus
