Lead Scientist – Flow cytometry

Are you a flow cytometry expert interested in making a real scientific impact through your everyday work? Would you enjoy working with a global team to develop assays for a wide variety of clients?

If you are looking for an opportunity where you can mentor and lead a team of scientists to bring new products to life AND be the primary point of contact for our clients, consider working at Covance as a Lead Scientist on our Flow team. In this role, you will:

+ Mentor and provide consultation to scientific and operational staff on technical issues. May have direct reports.

+ Ensure the effective scientific performance of assays through regular monitoring and evaluation of the assays.

+ Work with leadership and departments outside the lab to convert scientific theory into operational laboratory practices/capabilities.

+ Be the primary point of contact for client interactions by leading major client visits. You will discuss technical/scientific issues, ensure effective communication and maintain relationships.

+ Assists in marketing new capabilities.

+ Attend meetings, conferences, symposia, and seminars to promote CLS’s capabilities with dedicated scientific area.

+ Deliver presentations to clients and professional groups.

**Education/Qualifications**

Required:

♦Ph.D. in scientific area of expertise.

+ A Ph.D.

+ A Minimum of 5 years of experience.

+ Expert skills in research, data interpretation, and writing reports.

+ A passion for mentoring and leading scientific teams to achieve a goal.

+ Excellent presentation skills and enjoy working with clients to find solutions.

+ Effective communications skills with technical staff, business development staff, peers, and clients.
