Job Description:


The key responsibilities will be to Lead and Develop the Key Account Director Team in the following areas:

•Create the Strategy for Ferring brands within Urology/Oncology in Comprehensive Cancer Centers, Integrated Delivery Networks, Large Group Practices and GPO’s.
•Ensure access for Ferring brands through development and execution of account business plans ensuring mutually beneficial business relationships for Urology/Oncology products.
•Experience in hiring, developing, and retaining Key Individual Performers.
•Creation and Implementation of Incentive Compensation Plan for the Key Account Director Team. Position will require high level strategic thinking, proven negotiation skills, solid analytical thinking, and very strong collaborative leadership skills to implement strategies and tactics.
•Position will require strong relationship building skills to ensure Key Opinion Leader development and C-Suite management.
•Participate in a cross-functional team to contribute to US long-range plan for the Urology/Oncology franchise
•The position will report to the National Sales Director and work with Regional Directors, Marketing, and Operations to create and drive strategic positioning, differentiation, and key marketing messages for the Urology/Oncology product portfolio within the Key Account universe.


•Evaluate and review overall account progress as required
•Maintain updated account profiling data, Key Opinion Leader network, and information
•Manage T&E expenses
•Adheres to corporate policies and procedures
•Completes special projects as required
•Responsible for full budget allocation and management for assigned accounts
•Communication and Activity:
•Work with Sales, Marketing, Managed Care, and internal stakeholders to develop and execute communication of account plans
•Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders and field management to provide updates on healthcare providers and progress on Key Opinion Leader and account plans
•Coordinate and support the identification of Key Opinion Leaders for commercial advisory boards, speaker programs, and webcasts
•Ferring Marketing and Sales Contact for all external society engagement


•Meet or exceed sales expectations, formulary access goals and product/Ferring opportunities within assigned accounts.


•Field-based position that requires 70-80% travel



•Bachelor’s degree. MBA preferred.


•Director of Key Account Team requires a track record of at least 7+ years of successful sales and sales management experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
•Strong Marketing background with Oncology experience.
•The candidate must be able to demonstrate strong analytic skills and the ability to successfully implement strategic programs.
•Must possess the ability to work within a matrix.


•Ability to partner with executives (CEO, COO, CMO, and Directors) of key accounts. Focusing attention on building and maintaining customer relationships to achieve success is critical.
•Strategic thinking, planning, communication, and analytical skills are also critical requirements. Qualified candidates will understand current issues regarding the healthcare industry and have the ability to discern trends, and make appropriate results based decisions.
•Candidates should also be solution oriented through advanced problem solving skills, and through achieving results through others without a formalized supervisory role.
•Strong oral, written, and presentation skills, and competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
