Job Description:

Responsibilities:

•Assist with the assessment of organizational needs based on life-cycle management and therapeutic area requirements
•Drive the development, implementation, and management of the Company’s MSL programs in a manner consistent with best practices and applicable law, regulations, and relevant SOPs; maintain direct supervision and management of MSLs within an assigned specialty and/or geographic area
•Assist in delivering a programmed approach for thought leader development and relationships for all therapeutic areas along with other internal and external Medical Affairs team members
•Perform relevant field based monitoring activities (e.g., ride-alongs, program monitoring, Healthcare Professional interactions document review, etc.) both with and without the Senior Director, MSLs
•Create a strategy and aligned processes in support of MSL activities (e.g., Key Opinion Leader engagement plans, speaker training) in collaboration with internal stakeholders
•Works effectively with MSLs and management at all levels throughout the Ferring organization; interacts with high level clients as well as managed care organizations
•Provide strategic medical science advice to internal functions to support the needs of the business; assist in the design and implementation of policies and procedures to drive appropriate conduct as well as meeting Medical Affairs objectives
•Support the team in an environment that fosters the development and delivery of highly innovative solutions to routine as well as unusually complex field Medical Science issues; provide timely solutions for people-management related issues
•Serve as a mentor and trainer for the MSL team

Qualifications: 

Requirements:

•Doctoral degree required (i.e., MD, PharmD or PhD) in pharmacy, medicine, nursing, or a biological/life science
•Minimum of 8 years of Medical Science Director/Liaison industry experience
•Proven track record of success, especially in the area of establishing relationships with opinion leaders, professional organizations, and academic institutions
•Direct managerial experience of individuals in a field based group
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills with professional presentation abilities and experience
•Commitment to provide leadership by example
•Ability to travel 10% of the time
