Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated bioinformatics scientist to join the Bioinformatics team to help advance Advaxis’ portfolio of novel immuno-oncology therapies. This position will perform bioinformatics analysis on patient datasets from several on-going clinical trials. The applicant will interrogate immunologic data to identify potential biomarkers associated with patient outcomes. He/She will also work with internal and external collaborators to develop novel approaches for neoantigen detection.

Responsibilities:
• Perform bioinformatics data analysis on internal and external NGS datasets related to ongoing clinical programs.
• Contribute to the development of novel approaches for the identification of neoantigens and tumor escape mechanisms.
• Collaborate with the Research team and translate scientific findings into actionable information for diverse groups of scientists, clinicians, and other stakeholders.
• Design and develop tools for analysis of DNA and RNA sequencing.

Qualifications: 

Qualifications:
• Strong publication record.
• Fluent in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar.
• Fluent in R statistical programming language.
• Demonstrated experience with the analysis of next-generation sequencing data (whole exome sequencing, RNA sequencing, Nanostring, TCR sequencing, etc.).
• Expertise with designing and implementing NGS analysis pipelines in a Linux environment.
• Experience working in a cloud-computing environment (AWS, DNANexus).
• Understanding of statistical modeling and machine learning approaches (Keras, Tensorflow).
• Experience with publicly available genomic datasets from TCGA, ICGC, COSMIC, ExAc.
• Knowledge of cancer genomics and immuno-oncology strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Thrives in a fast-paced working environment.
• Prior experience in immune-oncology, immunology, and/or cancer biology strongly preferred.

Education and Experience:
• Masters degree with 2+ years working experience or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology, Statistics or related discipline.
