Job Description:


The primary role and responsibilities of this position include the development of therapeutic area specific health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) strategies and their tactical execution focused on the US. In this role, the individual will ensure the successful implementation of HEOR tactics through appropriate research design, project management, analysis, interpretation and dissemination of HEOR evidence and communication of appropriate HEOR key value messages for pipeline products and/or in-line brands. This role requires the individual to collaborate cross-functionally with individuals and teams in Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Market Access, and other allied functions in demonstrating and leveraging the HEOR value proposition of Insmed product(s).

•Develop US HEOR strategies for inline brands and/or pipeline products through cross functional, internal collaboration and alignment as well as through external collaboration with lead HEOR researchers and decision-makers.
•Develop and implement appropriate US HEOR tactics to assist the development of value dossiers and market access.
•Conceptualize, implement and manage US HEOR projects from inception to completion for all phases of research, including publication, dissemination, and presentation.
•Set milestones and manage external vendors and HEOR consultants for timely project deliverables.
•Provide robust HEOR tactical input into PhII-PhIV clinical trials that affect US, including research design, appropriate choice of HEOR endpoints, data collection methods, data analysis and interpretation through collaboration with Clinical Development and Medical Affairs.
•Support the strategies to obtain US regulatory approval of PRO claims.
•Support the research and selection of PRO measures for use in clinical trials.
•Support the development of HEOR manuscripts from data obtained from clinical studies that included health economics and PRO components.
•Collaborate with the field medical team to ensure that HEOR economic models and payor tools/dossiers demonstrate value from a payor perspective to support pricing defense, reimbursement and market access and utilization goals.
•Contribute to the development of value/AMCP dossier for submission to formulary committees and collaborate with Medical Information for periodic dossier updates.


•Doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, Sc.D. or Dr. PH) in a relevant discipline such as, but not limited to, health services research, health outcomes research, epidemiology, pharmacy administration, public health, economics, statistics or decision sciences, plus five years practical experience
•PhD or Pharm D with a MPH strongly preferred.
•A minimum of 7 years of experience in health economics within a pharmaceutical or health organization.
•Strong methodological, quantitative and analytical skills combined with a sound understanding of how to successfully apply HEOR principles to support the enterprise.
•Demonstrated ability to think strategically and make sound health economic and outcomes research decisions.
•Strong project management skills with oversight experience in both internal and external projects are necessary.
•Publication/presentation track record with experience in medical/scientific writing, internal/external educational training on interpretation of HEOR data and resulting tools, third party payor support and KOL development.
•Demonstrated understanding of legal and regulatory issues impacting HE/PRO labeling and promotional claims.
•Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of the US and global health care systems and financing mechanisms.
•Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability in participating and leading cross-functional teams, excellent skills in leading without authority, and negotiating and managing through influence.
•Strong track-record of being results-driven and showing accountability for achieving early wins and long term success.
•Demonstrated ability to assume a mentor and coach role either through direct reports or in a matrix environment.
